EAW "I never let you down / you never let me try" — rarely do ten words encapsulate so many emotions. This album is a gem. Favorite track: Skipping Stone.

AD So much charm in this album - put it on, sit back, and you'll be smiling and singing along in no time. Pairs well with a beautiful drive, too Favorite track: Winter Legs.

stephenbluhmisafanof Trevor has an impressive ability to dream up these funny characters and stories in his lyrics, snippets of other lives in other worlds. They're quirky, funny, deep in a strange way, and always highly creative. On this album, he gets truly touching, notably with Just OK, a beautiful and relatable desire to just feel normal. His music is at once catchy and familiar, but like nothing else. A tremendous ear for little surprises. Never the expected in any way. Always Trevor. Favorite track: Just OK.

about

A few years ago I set out to make a folk followup to Passion Fruits. I thought for sure my kids would be into the new songs, with shakers and marimbas and bongos. My daughter Georgia just stared at me blankly and yawned.

Around the same time I bought a telecaster. In between working on new folk songs I would pick it up and write and record little rock’n’roll ditties. I showed Georgia what ended up as the first track on this record and she immediately lit up. I took it as a sign and changed course.

While making this record I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I’ve read about other artists going through a life scare and wanting to get into the studio to make their masterpiece. This is quite a bit more lighthearted than that. It’s just me enjoying that telecaster, trying my hand at some psychedelic, surf and noisy guitar tunes.

I’m cancer free now, and while lyrically the title track has nothing to do with that whole experience, I do love the idea of a skipping stone… something heavy that with the right kind of movement and momentum magically floats above the surface of the water.

Here’s your rock’n'roll record Georgia and Luke, thank you for helping me skip across the surface of that deep and scary pond.
